Our Pre-Apprenticeship training program is for anyone that is completely new to our trades of metal framing, drywall, and acoustical ceilings. This 4-week program takes someone with no experience and gives them the skills and building blocks they need to begin learning our trade on the job as an Apprentice. On the job training mixed with classroom workshops speeds up the training experience. We teach skills that directly relate to our trades, streamlining the time it takes to be a fully skilled tradesman. All training is paid and hands on, making for an engaging learning experience.

Job Requirements:

• Help complete the project on time, within budget, and ensure job quality.

At Zook Interiors, we highly value Journeymen, as they are crucial to the completion of a project. Our framers, drywall hangers, drywall finishers, and ceiling mechanics are skilled at their craft. They not only execute their tasks in a timely manner, but also do so with excellence and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Construct, install, and repair projects, using Metal Stud Framer/Hanger/Finisher hand tools and power tools.
• Follow blueprints and specifications.
• Frame walls, hang and/or finish drywall, and install ceilings with efficiency and quality.
• Prepare or assist with layout, using lasers, squares, chalk lines, etc.
• Work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Clean work areas and equipment to maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, management, and customers.
• Help complete the project on time, within budget, and ensure job quality.

Job Requirements:

• Adequate experience in either Metal Stud Framing/Hanging/Finishing in commercial construction.
• Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in metal stud framing, hanging, and finishing.
• Thorough operating knowledge of all Metal Stud Framer/Hanger/Finisher hand and power tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to communicate well with both management and crew.
• Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, specifications, etc. required to complete the project.
• Must have a valid photo license or State ID.
• Drug-free at all times

Our foremen are the day to day team leaders on the job site. They are an essential connection between our customers and our team. They work hard to make sure that our jobs run smoothly and effectively. Foremen are responsible to keep the job on schedule, manage team members, and produce a quality finished product.

Responsibilities:

• Direct as well as construct, install, and repair projects, using Metal Stud Framer/Hanger/Finisher hand tools and power tools.
• Follow architectural, structural, and Shop Drawings as well as contract specifications.
• Prepare layout, using lasers, squares, chalk lines, etc.
• Work in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Clean work areas and equipment to maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, management, and customers.
• Maintain and secure tools and equipment.
• Maintain job schedule – complete job within budget and ensure job quality.
• Complete and submit all required documentation.

Job Requirements:

• Substantial experience in either Metal Stud Framing/Hanging/Finishing in commercial construction.
• Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the Zook Interiors trades.
• Ability to communicate well with both management and crew.
• Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, specifications, etc. required to complete the project.
• Must have a valid photo license or State ID.
• Must be approved by the insurance company to drive company vehicles.
